What to expect

In seventh grade, we focus on building independence in students academically and personally. We provide them with tools to utilize in order to be successful. We primarily focus on students developing high-ordered critical thinking skills in all of their courses. The students gain more responsibility in the school and have many opportunities to serve their school and community. Students engage in rigorous academic projects as well as serve the community by fulfilling service hours. They go on enriching field trips including The Museum of Catholic Art and History and Learning Tree Farm. In terms of their academic courses, each class has high expectations for learning. Math sets the foundation for algebraic thinking and explores proportional relationships, rational numbers, and geometric constructs. Language Arts focuses on grammar mechanics, building vocabulary, and writing skills in various genres. In Social Studies, we explore Ancient Civilizations World History and how the cultures, customs, and events have shaped our world today. In Science, we explore STEM using independent and group work through Earth, Life, Physical, and Computer sciences through a variety of mediums and styles. In Religion, we focus on how Jesus Christ is our true authority and guide through life, and how our belief in Jesus is the foundation of our faith.
